Intern Spotlight: Brushing up as a Front End Development Intern with Edgetechies by Khalid Bello

Today I completed my internship as a frontend developer at Edgetechies. The past few months have been filled with learning and professional growth. The internship started in December 2020 in the middle of the pandemic where physical learning had been restricted. Hence, the internship was a virtual one. However, I decided to keep a positive mindset and utilize the opportunity to learn and grow.

In the course of the internship, I was taught how to make use of several web development technologies such as; Content Delivery Network(CDN), Minification (CSS and JavaScript), CSS transition and animations, SVG manipulation, web accessibility etc. I also learnt some CSS and JavaScript frameworks such as Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap4 and React JS.

The internship was truly engaging as I got to work on several projects, one of the major projects being a website for a fish farmer’s business. For this project I was responsible for creating the home, about, products, order and contact-us sections. I got to use several web development tools and technologies in this project such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap4, Image optimization, Netlify etc. Some minor projects I worked on include a To-do app, social media dashboard, landing page for a business etc.

I want to use this opportunity to appreciate some individuals for making my internship a fulfilling one;
Damola Anjorin, thank you for granting me the opportunity to gain industry experience and for believing in me. Tunji Oyeniran, my supervisor, thank you so much for your time and patience.

The internship has led me to be a proactive and effective communicator, create project plans and also gain some working experience in the technology space.
