Education, cocreated for better outcomes

This year’s International Day of Education draws attention to a critical idea: education delivers the greatest impact when it is co-created.

At Edgetechies, this is not a slogan. It is a practical approach shaped by years of working with schools, educators, young people, and public institutions to improve learning outcomes in real contexts.

Education is not a side project for us. It is a core focus area that runs through our work in technology, business development, and capacity building, because systems that work better produce better results for learners and teachers alike.

Moving Beyond Access

Across Africa and other emerging markets, education conversations have evolved beyond access. The more pressing challenges today are quality, relevance, administration, and outcomes.

We have worked with schools struggling under fragmented systems, limited data visibility, and administrative overload. We have partnered with teachers who are committed to their students but constrained by tools, structures, and processes that make effective teaching harder than it needs to be.

These experiences inform how we work at Edgetechies. We focus on strengthening the systems around learning so educators can teach better and learners can learn better.

Building for Outcomes Across the Education Value Chain

Our education work spans programs, platforms, and partnerships designed to improve outcomes at multiple levels.

Through SkillHer, we support women and girls to build relevant skills and confidence, while actively applying learning to real-world challenges. Participants are engaged not only as learners, but as contributors — shaping how education translates into opportunity, agency, and impact.

On the systems side, we have built and supported education administration and experience tools such as Ile-iwe, helping schools improve coordination, record-keeping, and insight into student progress. Strong administrative systems reduce friction for teachers and create space for better instruction and learner engagement.

Beyond our own products, Edgetechies consultants have contributed to initiatives like NearTutors, and have worked closely with schools, educators, and government stakeholders to strengthen teaching quality, programme delivery, and learning outcomes. These engagements have reinforced a key lesson: meaningful improvement happens when teachers are supported, not stretched thinner.

Supporting Teachers to Do Their Best Work

One consistent insight across our education engagements is that teachers sit at the centre of learning outcomes.

When educators have access to better tools, clearer systems, and supportive structures, teaching quality improves. When their voices and classroom realities inform programme design, solutions are more effective and sustainable.

Our approach reflects this understanding. We design with context, involve end users where it matters, and prioritise solutions that make teaching and learning more effective — not more complicated.

Looking Forward: Infrastructure That Enables Better Learning

As we look ahead, our focus is shifting toward education infrastructure that supports long-term improvement.

Through ClassEquip, an initiative currently being incubated at Edgetechies, we are exploring ways to support schools and educators with tools, resources, and partnerships that strengthen learning environments. ClassEquip is informed by years of working within education systems and learning from models that emphasise accountability, collaboration, and measurable impact.

The goal is simple: help schools function better, support teachers more effectively, and ultimately improve learning outcomes.

A Shared Commitment to Better Outcomes

As we mark this International Day of Education, we reaffirm our commitment to education that is collaborative, practical, and outcome-driven.

Education improves when learners are engaged, teachers are supported, and systems work as they should.

At Edgetechies, we are committed to building alongside educators, institutions, and communities — because better outcomes are not achieved alone.

They are co-created.
