I started my 12-week internship with Edgetechies as a Junior Business Analyst a few months ago. So far, the experience has been absolutely incredible. My internship was slated to begin in April 2022, and all work was to be done remotely. I was constantly looking for internship jobs at the time, so when the chance presented itself, it came just in time.
I've done remote internships before, but I had no idea that working with Edgetechies would give me an unparalleled experience. Even though I always performed well when such occasions arose, I had always enjoyed working behind the scenes and avoiding any type of spotlight. It continued to be a significant deal for me.
There was nowhere for me to run when I was working with the Edgetechies crew. The squad was made up of self-assured and conscientious individuals. I was no longer able to blend in the way I had wished. My supervisor, Kasope Ajibola, guided me as I learned how to create and evaluate business development strategies. I got to work on two significant projects, so it was a learning era with lots of interesting experiences.
The main undertaking was creating a business plan for an online store with a focus on the African and international markets. The small project I worked on was for the financial records of a pastry company. My experience using Google Site tools professionally came from working on these projects (Docs, Sheets, and Slides). I had a basic understanding of the tools previously, but after 12 weeks of rigorous effort and learning, I significantly improved my ability to use them to achieve outcomes in the business development field. My research and presentation skills were also put to good use by the project's nature, which required me to conduct a lot of planned research and give presentations in meetings. The fact that I had never used Google Slides before to build a business plan for an e-commerce company further sparked my inventiveness.
I'd like to take this chance to express my gratitude to a few people who helped make my internship rewarding and worthwhile. Damola Anjorin, thank you for giving me the chance to develop professionally and gain first-hand knowledge of business development. Kasope Ajibola, my supervisor, is greatly appreciated for his time, patience, and belief in me. I have developed business concepts, become a proactive and successful presenter, and gained quantifiable job experience in the business development field thanks to the internship.
